Our goal is to provide access to the signature educational research conference in our field to enhance the academic and professional achievement of doctoral students of color at the University of Colorado Denver’s School of Education and Human Development.

DSoC will attempt to cover the following expenses:
- 2026 AERA Annual Meeting registration fees (final cost TBD – last year was $130)
- Lodging (this will be dependent on the total number of accepted scholarship applicants)
Costs you may be responsible for:
If you are selected to attend the 2026 AERA Annual Meeting as a DSoC member, you may be responsible for covering the following expenses:
- AERA graduate student membership fee ($80)
- Roundtrip airfare from Denver to Los Angeles
- Ground transportation (Ubers/Lyfts/taxis/public transportation in Los Angeles, parking and travel to/from Denver International Airport, etc.)
- Meals
- Any additional expenses beyond what is listed above as covered by DSoC.
All DSoC members receiving DSoC funding to attend the 2026 AERA Annual Meeting will be required to:
- Participate in a DSoC AERA pre-conference meeting
- Give a brief presentation of takeaways and learnings from the convening at a DSoC community event.
*For DSoC members who do not live in Colorado, we will work with you to cover as much as possible for airfare, train travel, or mileage reimbursement if you are located within driving distance to Los Angeles.
